Church LED display projects come in two very different forms — outdoor marquee signs that communicate to the community from the road, and indoor worship video walls that elevate the in-sanctuary experience. They're different products with different price ranges, and most churches eventually consider both.
An outdoor church LED marquee is your most visible communication tool — visible 24 hours a day to everyone who drives past your property. Unlike a static monument sign or a manual changeable letter board, a full-color LED marquee lets you update your message instantly from a phone or tablet. Sermon series, service times, upcoming events, scripture — all scheduled in advance or changed in real time.
| Configuration | Active Display Area | Best For | Installed Price |
|---|---|---|---|
| 3×1 reader board | 9.45 ft × 3.15 ft | Small roadside, close viewing | $8,000–$13,000 |
| 3×2 standard marquee | 9.45 ft × 6.30 ft | Most small-to-mid churches | $12,000–$18,000 |
| 4×2 full marquee | 12.60 ft × 6.30 ft | Mid-to-large churches, busy roads | $16,000–$24,000 |
| 5×3 large marquee | 15.75 ft × 9.45 ft | Large campus, high-traffic road | $22,000–$32,000 |
| Double-sided (any config) | Both road directions | Corner lot, both-way traffic | Add 60–80% to single-sided |
These prices include the display, mounting structure, controller, content management software setup, installation, and staff training. They do not include permitting fees, which vary by municipality.
Most churches are set back 40–100 feet from the road and face moderate-speed traffic. For this typical scenario, P6.67 or P8 is the correct pixel pitch — readable from the road, appropriate for text and graphics, and significantly less expensive than P4 or P5. Finer pitches are only necessary if people are reading your sign from 15–20 feet away.
A good LED company specs the pitch based on your actual viewing distance — not based on what generates the most revenue. If you're quoted P4 for a roadside church sign without a clear explanation tied to viewing distance, ask why.
Indoor LED video walls for worship are a different product — fine-pitch panels (P2–P4) that create a seamless backdrop for the stage. They display sermon graphics, worship lyrics, scripture, live camera feeds, and announcement content — all on one display, without the washout or lamp maintenance issues of projection.
| Wall Size | Approximate Dimensions | Pixel Pitch | Price Range |
|---|---|---|---|
| Small stage wall | 10 ft × 6 ft | P3 or P4 | $15,000–$25,000 |
| Medium stage wall | 16 ft × 9 ft | P2.5 or P3 | $28,000–$45,000 |
| Large stage wall | 24 ft × 12 ft | P2 or P2.5 | $45,000–$80,000+ |
Indoor wall pricing varies more than outdoor — pixel pitch, viewing distance, and configuration complexity all affect cost significantly. The above ranges are starting points; contact us for a project-specific quote with exact specifications.
Every PXLLED church proposal includes everything needed for board presentation and project approval:
Most churches don't write a check for a $20,000 sign out of the operating budget. Here are the most common funding approaches we see:
The most common route for larger church display projects. LED display systems are a compelling capital campaign item because the cost is finite, the benefit is immediate and visible, and the lifespan is 10+ years. Our documentation package is designed to support capital campaign presentations.
Some denominational bodies, community foundations, and regional funders offer technology or facilities grants that can cover LED display projects. We provide exact specification and lifespan documentation to support grant applications.
Many churches have received outdoor LED signs as major memorial gifts or facility designations from families honoring a loved one. A named outdoor marquee is a lasting, visible tribute.
For smaller churches, phasing the project over 12–18 months with a deposit and installation payment can make the project accessible without a capital campaign. We work with churches on project timing that fits their budget cycle.
Tell us your display type (outdoor marquee, indoor wall, or both), your approximate size, and your timeline. We'll respond within two business days with exact specifications and real pricing — including full documentation for board approval.
